Ricardo Ferreira de Mascarenhas is passionate about what he does and strongly committed to making the Portuguese business environment more robust and competitive.

Currently General Manager at RMCONSULTING, of which he is the founder, and a certified consultant by the Management Consulting Institute (Cambridge, Massachusetts), he has over 18 years of professional experience during which he has worked with family owned SMEs and multinational companies, both Portuguese and foreign.

He is the creator and founder of LEANTODAY® and CORPORATE WELLBEING CONFERENCE® and of LEANTODAY ACADEMY and Associate Partner in YOKOTEN.

As a trainer he collaborates with several institutions, (EPA/AEVA, VEBS, ISQ, ABIMOTA, …) in topics related to operational excellence and Lean strategies.

He signs the opinion column RMCONSULTING in Diário de Aveiro and Vida Económica, is the author of the book “Lean Management in Services” and brought to Portugal the books “Understanding Lean” (This is Lean) by Niklas Modig and Pär Åhlström and “Learning to Lead, Leading to LEARN” by Katie Anderson, in addition to participation in other works and articles.

In 2020-2021, in addition to his professional activity, he was a Member of the Health Parliament Portugal, 2nd edition, where he was also Coordinator of the Equity and Sustainability Commission.

He has a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Aveiro with subsequent post-graduate studies in management by IPAM and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He has been focusing on continuous training, having also a mini-MBA in Lean Services Management, a post-graduation as Lean Practitioner by the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya (Barcelona Tech), an advanced training course in industrial engineering and management by the University of Aveiro and is currently a doctoral student in operations management at the same institution.
