Mário Afonso (1983), is a visual artist, professor and researcher.
Degree in fine arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and Master in Contemporary Artistic Creation by the University of Aveiro.
AHending a PhD in Art and Multimedia at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, with the research project “Art and Chemistry: Symbiosis for representation”

Management of the Estação Project, a space for cultural dissemination. The space is being explored with the aim of disseminating the work of national and international artists, from different artistic areas, such as photography, painting, music, cinema, video art, etc.
The space is also dedicated to projects involving technology, science and education. In addition, workshops are held with children and adults, encouraging production and artistic and critical thinking.

The Station also promotes cinema through partnerships with the Avanca International Film Festival, with Marmostra and with Shortcurtz.
Founder of the “Vamos ver o que isto vai dar” festival, which seeks to combine traditional and modern elements where immersive dynamics emerge in routes of living art, designed from Canelas Station. Establishing bridges between alternative spaces in the area, this circuit provokes the interaction between art, nature and technology.

Developing the “Quinta Nova” project, whose main function is to integrate the disciplines of science, research, art and technology in a unique rural context, located in Bioria in Canelas. The contribution ranges from the design and coordination of collaborative initiatives to the implementation of creative solutions that promote synergy between these fields, resulting in a space for innovation and exceptional interdisciplinary exploration.Professional experience.
